Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Doğubeyazıt, a charming town nestled at the foot of Mount Ararat – Agri Dagi. Settle into your hotel, enjoy a welcome dinner, and receive a comprehensive briefing about the trip.
Day 2: Our service car will pick you up form the hotel and drive to the starting point of the trek. Begin your ascent Hike to the Camp 1, passing through fertile pastures and enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. arrive to base camp 1 (approximately 3200 meters).
Day 3: We will take moderate hike for acclimatization, exploring higher altitudes and returning to Camp 1 for the night.
Day 4: Enjoy a rest day at Camp 1, allowing your body to further adapt to the thinner air. Take this opportunity for yoga, meditation, or reading while soaking in the stunning scenery.
Day 5: Today we will ascend to Camp 2 (approximately 4100 meters), encountering more challenging terrain. Enjoy panoramic vistas and prepare for the summit push.
Day 6: Rise early for the challenging Mount Ararat Summit Day. After a pre-dawn breakfast, we will begin to climb under the guidance of our experienced team. Witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over the surrounding mountains as you approach the summit (5137 meters). Celebrate your achievement, take in the breathtaking panoramic views, and descend safely back to Camp 2.
Day 7: We will Hike back down to the starting point, enjoying the final scenic views of Mount Ararat. Celebrate your success with a farewell lunch before returning to Doğubeyazıt, where you can explore the local market or relax in your hotel.
Today we will arrange local to few interesting places located close to Dogubayazit. First we will drive to Ishak Pasha Palace – one of the most important palaces in Ottoman history, built in 17th century.
Then we will visit Durupinar site (a ship-shaped area that some people believe could be the “footprint” of Noah’s Ark)
The last point of our tour will be Meteor Crater, located just next to the border crossing with Iran. It is the second largest meteor crater in the world, after the largest one in Alaska. Then we will back to the town for lunch. On the afternoon those who want can go to Turkish bath (Hamam).
RESERVE DAY WE MAKE SURE TO CLIMB UP TO THE SUMMIT
There is an emergency extra day in our program. Weather conditions on the mountain sometimes make the climb impossible. With a extra day, you’ll have a chance to wait in the second camp area to wait for the weather conditions to improve and then try again the next day when the weather gets better. If there are no bad weather conditions, this day will be used after the summit descent to rest at the Mount Ararat Base Camp area at 3200 meters.
Travel – Flight: AGRI-VAN-IGDIR Airport & DOGUBEYAZIT Bus Station.
Travel: Recommended arrival and departure airport is : IGDIR (There are winter flights available via Istanbul). Alternatively Transfers VAN or AGRI airports is also available to a minimum extra cost. Please note that the flight information may change rapidly and not all flights run daily. Please check directly with the airlines website.Please do not book your flights before we have confirmed your booking.
Extra Arrival and Departure Dates: Please plan to arrive one day before the trek begins and depart one day after the trek ends.
Luggage transfers & logistics : Luggage transfer on hiking (Walking) days is included and your baggages will transferred from departure point to the finish
Meal Arrangements: Breakfast and dinner will be provided at accommodations. Lunch will be picnic or takeaway food with fruits during the trekking days.
Extra Day – Night : Please give a notice for one or more extra Night/ Day Before and / or after the activity.
